NAK Horses
May 2019
May flew by although I barely got any sleep! Frankie and Dolly were growing like weeds, but at 12 days old, Dolly got a bad case of diarrhea and I ended up having to milk Elly and feed her every 2 hours for 30 hours! I couldnt get on top of the dehydration enough so she would start nursing on her own so I ended up having to take her to the vet to get her hooked up to IV and put on antibiotics, electrolytes and ulcer meds. On top of this I was getting woken up 3 times a night by Maggie, who would lay flat and set off the foaling alarm on her halter! Fortunately Dolly made a complete recovery, Finn and I had a successful schooling show and I was present for Maggie's delivery of her gorgeous palomino filly, Cassidy, at the end of the month!
